Seminar Topic: Diagnosis of Inflammatory Periodontal Disease

Course Description:
This course builds on the participant’s understanding of how to do a complete clinical and radiographic periodontal examination. Participants will explore the information gained in the examination and synthesize it into a diagnosis of inflammatory periodontal disease. The most recently updated classification standards will be presented. The participants will work through cases in small groups and present their findings, followed by a live discussion and Q&A.
Audience: Dentists
Key Learning Objectives:
- Differentiate gingivitis and periodontitis
- Classify periodontal disease using the staging and grading classification as per the 2017 World Workshop Consensus Report
- Formulate an accurate diagnosis of periodontitis
- Create an initial periodontal therapy treatment plan
This course is a prerequisite for Evaluation of Inital Therapy for Inflammatory Periodontal Disease.
