Speaker: Rita Bauer
Course Description Module 1:
Dental photography for patient records should be fully integrated in every practice. Patient acceptance of a proposed treatment plan is much higher when clinical photographs are included in the consultation process. High-quality clinical photographs make it easier to effectively communicate with dental labs, insurance companies, and colleagues.
In this module, participants learn how to select the right equipment for effortless and seamless integration into daily operations.
Audience: Dentists
Key Learning Objectives:
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Compare four different cameras and decide which system is best suited for their clinic
- The ultimate high-end DSLR camera or Mirrorless camera and 100 mm macro lens with ring or dual flash system
- User-friendly Shofu EyeSpecial CIII
- Small, practical, waterproof and easy-to-use CliniCam Point and Shoot camera
- Mobile phones with dental lighting systems
- Identify which retractors, contrasters and mirrors will give you the best results with the greatest patient comfort.
Course Description Module 2:
Specific guidelines for patient photography need to be followed consistently to obtain clinically correct images for treatment planning and medical/legal records.
Dental photography can be learned quite quickly, but without properly calibrated equipment and training in standardized clinical photography, the results are often not of the desired quality, providing misleading information and leading to frustration for all.
Key Learning Objectives:
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Handle their camera equipment with confidence and determine which functions are necessary for dental photography
- Recognize proper patient positioning for Standardized Facial Photography
- Demonstrate the techniques for Intra-Oral Views using retractors and mirrors
- Identify the do’s and don’ts of maintaining and disinfecting equipment and accessories
- Utilize the provided template to produce an effective case presentation to communicate with colleagues
- Create a compelling “make-over” photographic series of their patients in minutes and make them feel like a star!
