Course Description:

In this eLearning course, Dr. Hagen Klieb, DMD, FRCD(C) provides a comprehensive review of the pathology, symptoms and diagnosis of oral cancer.

Video demonstrations of examination techniques are provided for each of the key areas for the general, intraoral, extraoral, and temporomandibular anatomy. A guided review of actual case samples displaying various types of oral cancer are presented including examples of false positives.

The legal responsibilities for dental practices and a list of the practice team members' responsibilities by role are reviewed in a comprehensive legal reference guide.

The course further discusses the use of adjunctive screening devices and their role in relation to the visual and tactile examination including autofluorescence, chemiluminescent and vital tissue staining.

The course also provides a review of proper medical terminology to be used when documenting cases.
