Course Description:
There has been an increasing incidence of cancers of the oropharynx attributed to the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). This has had a direct impact on the dental profession both in terms of initial detection/diagnosis as well as the dental management of patients post chemoradiation.
Patients are increasingly aware of the role of HPV and will direct questions to their dental team. This course will provide an update on the current knowledge of HPV-induced lesions as well as practical dental management implications.
