Seminar Topic: Hard & Soft Tissue Management of Dental Implants

Over 50% of dental implants require bone augmentation. Regeneration of bone especially, vertical and/or 3-dimensional bon regeneration is technically very difficult, clinically unpredictable and requires precise planning and execution. Similarly soft tissue regeneration, be it around teeth or dental implants, can be daunting dental procedure. In this lecture we will look at the surgical management of some challenging cases through soft and hard tissue regeneration.

Learning Outcomes:

• Explain the thought process in the selection of surgical techniques
• Recognize the potential risks and challenges when performing hard and soft tissue grafting
• See how some challenging cases are managed using autogenous tissue – bone and soft tissue
• Get an overview of 3D bone regeneration, soft tissue regeneration (implant therapy) and a combination of both (perio therapy)
