Course Description:
This course builds on participant’s understanding of how to do a complete clinical and radiographic periodontal examination. Participants will explore the information gained in the medical and dental examination and synthesize it into a diagnosis of inflammatory periodontal disease using the AAP classification system. Participants will work through and discuss cases to determine a diagnosis and understand recommended treatment plan.

Key Learning Objectives:
By the end of the session participants will be able to:
- Differentiate gingivitis and periodontitis
- Classify periodontal disease using the AAP staging and grading classification system
- Formulate an accurate diagnosis of periodontitis
- Create an initial periodontal therapy treatment plan
